Nate Womacks has played the drums since he was 17 years
old. As a senior in high school he learned how to play a
basic beat from a friend during study hall in the band room.
From there he bought a basic drum set and began to teach
himself to play by studying the techniques of other professional
drummers.
Nate was saved as a child at the age of five after watching
the Jesus Film. He rededicated his life to the Lord at
age twenty-seven and now has a renewed vigor for loving and
serving
God. He has been happily married to his wife, Sara since
June of 1998. He feels very blessed to have a spouse who
is very supportive of this ministry.
Ever since Nate started playing drums, God had put a burning
desire within him to get out there and play music for His
glory. Nate has been playing now for 12 years and he just
never found the home, or the niche that God had for him.
Nate’s love for drumming led him in and out of a few
bands throughout his late teens and twenties and although
these experiences allowed him to collaborate with other musicians
and improve himself as a player, they weren’t what
God had in mind for him.
In February of 2002, Coram Deo was already in existence
but not yet whole as a band. The guitar player, who was a
friend
of Nate’s, invited him to play drums for the band.
Nate met with the band, heard and played Kat’s songs
and instantly felt a great vibe with what was going on. He
was a bit surprised though because musically, he came from
a hard rock background and the music Kat was playing was
not that. Initially, he didn't quite know what to think;
questioning if the Lord wanted him to play in this band.
The thing was, God was all over the music and he knew that
was something he wanted to be a part of. Nate is delighted
to say that he has been involved ever since. He knows that
through all his musical endeavors in life, God was preparing
him for Coram Deo.
